The original designers of the 990 had the task of developing the best running shoe on the market. The finished product more than lived up to their expectations. For avid runners and trendsetters alike, the 990 was a mark of quality and good taste. Since '82, the design has been revised and there have been more colour options, but the aura of the 990 as an aspirational status symbol has remained unchanged. This model has a kahki-coloured suede upper with a brown, open-pore mesh base.
