Rudolf Dassler, on the other hand, was seen more as the extroverted businessman.

In 1928, Dassler shoes were even used for the first time at the Olympic Games - the games were held in Amsterdam at the time. Just a decade later, the Dassler brothers were already producing sports shoes for various sports. In 1936, for example, an athlete won four gold medals at the Olympics wearing his Dassler shoes. All this was, of course, very good publicity for the Dassler brothers' corporation.

Towards the end of World War II, the Dassler brothers' shoe factory was manufacturing anti-tank weapons. Both Dassler brothers were members of the NSDAP at the time, starting in 1933. After the war, the brothers fell out and went their separate ways. Rudolf Dassler founded the manufacturer Puma in 1948, which is also known worldwide today. From that point on, both Puma and Adidas produced a wide range of shoes. Today's Adidas was founded on August 18, 1949 by Adolf Dassler.
